
Submitted papers should fall into one
of the following categories:
Heat Treatment
Surface Engineering
HIPping
Materials Processes or Materials Testing
Prizes
Best undergraduate scientific/technical paper $3,000
Best post graduate scientific/technical paper $3,000
Best orally presented paper $3,000(this can also be the best
scientific/technical paper)
All other finalists $1,250
All short listed entrants $300
All undergraduates who compete at the final will be offered a 1
year salaried internship at one of Bodycote’s worldwide
facilities. Bodycote currently operate in over 30 countries.
Expenses paid trip to the final to present the paper
Details
The subject of the Paper can be any aspect of research and/or
development applied to the fields of heat treatment, surface
engineering, materials processing or materials testing including
any relevant production, process, management, IT or business
issues.
Competition open to all current students, undergraduate or
postgraduate, in full time or part time education and to all
graduates of not more than 3 years standing.
All candidates should initially send a synopsis of not more than
250 words and a brief CV by Monday 16th October 2006,
accompanied by a statement from the candidate’s supervisor or
department, confirming that they are a student in current
attendance or a graduate of not more than 3 years standing. In
either case the Paper must be based on work carried out
as a student.
The finalists will be required to present their Paper in English
to an invited audience of Bodycote senior management in March
2007. Exact date and venue to be confirmed.
